Final digital illustration created in Adobe Illustrator.
Original line drawings, marker color renderings and color test.
Original art color final color tests. We started with earth tones but then switched to the blue-green and yellow combination. The photo on the right show ruling pen trials. Ruling pens can be finicky when using cold press illustration board.

About This Project
The "Birdie" project was a created for an online contest. When my son was young he spent hour after hour creating characters. "Birdie" was one of favorites. He had never tried air brush before and he liked the idea of a digital and a "real" version. He created the digital version after the original illustration was completed. The digital version was printer on Canson paper with a Canon 9500 MarkII and the air brush version was created using cold press illustration board and gouache. Like always the color are a special mix and look spectacular.
